Insert/Substitute breaks loop

Post by nik »

Hi Jesse, I'm not sure what is happening here. I

1. start a new SL session, delete second track
2. RECORD a 10 second loop
3. press SUBSTITUTE 3 times, all is good
4. 4th time SUBSTITUTE and most of the loop gets deleted (not all of it) and UNDO doesn't undo anything

Is that expected behaviour, can I change something about it?

- when I record a 20 second loop in step one it already happens after the second SUBSTITUTE
- when I change the loop time in the preferences to 80 seconds it still happens but later (more SUBSTS)

I also compiled the recent v1.7.8 and it's the same thing.

For now I increased the memory for loop length drastically (1000s) and will see how it works out.

Yes, all of the undo/redo/workspace must fit in the loop memory allocated. The default 40 seconds is not much for anything... you'll want to use a much bigger loop memory. That 40 second default was chosen back in 2002!
