Re: SL and Sierra ?

Interesting, check out comi's solution, hopefully that won't break anything else, but it should at least get you going. Sometimes the local hostname will change, and you'll have to do this again. Until I fix this properly in the software!

Re: SL and Sierra ?

Hey Jesse, glad to hear that SL works on Sierra. Huzzah! Here is the debug output you requested. See anything I need to fix on my system? https://gist.github.com/jkndrkn/4f488a59c94aa541c22a7bfa4104a9bb OK, nothing popped out at me there. Here is where it gets hardcore: 1. Re: SL and Sierra ?

Hello! I'm still here! I am running Sierra now, I just tried JackPilot, then SL, and of course it all works fine here! :/ The issue of not connecting has been a very long standing one and usually has to do with a network configuration issue on the computer. I've never managed to isolate exactly what...

Re: Sending SL to a DAW

I think you might consider trying the AudioUnit version of SooperLooper, so the DAW can host it directly instead of using JACK. Can Audition use AudioUnit plugins? Using Ardour is another option, you can use it with JACK or with the AudioUnit version. I don't have time to do a walkthrough now, but l...

Re: Adjust volume of last added overdub?

No, this isn't possible.. all the loop actions are destructive, and there is no way to copy the contents of one loop as an overdub of another. The best you can do is trial and error it, perhaps undo'ing ones where you didn't like it and trying it again after changing your input gain. Or if you found...

Re: SooperLooper trouble with Yosemite

Looks like there are some releases of JACK out there for Yosemite and El Capitan: http://mixbus.harrisonconsoles.com/forum/thread-788.html And for El Cap: https://github.com/jackaudio/jack2/issues/144 Use the link halfway down the thread from sletz. Also, have you tried the AudioUnit (64bit) version...

Re: workflow and midi bindings

Hmm, when you set up the binding, try setting the type to Note On instead of Note. That should eliminate the doubling for that kind of command. For the Record, overdub, etc you should be able to use Note or Note On.

Re: how to get /sl/#/forceup to work?

You are correct that forceup should be doing what you want. I'll need to look into that to see if I can reproduce it. As a workaround, yes, if you do an down followed immediately by an up (as it would be if tapping a button or pedal) to start recording, and do the same down-up to finish, it should w...

Re: Local OSC Latency

How will you be controlling it in practice, OSC or MIDI? Realistically, I don't think control latency is going to be an issue for you... as there is audio latency compensation for the important parts of loop timing. But I haven't personally tried RPi to see how things are there.

Re: How can I record on a single track?

You need to adjust your midi binding to pick the loop number the binding uses instead of All. Or you can choose "Selected" to have it use the currently selected loop. If you want to use the same footswitch for record, you will either need to dedicated another footswitch to changing the sel...

Re: How many buttons do I need?

On the combo binding if you do a long-press of the button (held for about a second) then release it will reset the loop to empty so the next press will do a record. You need to use midi Note bindings to make long-press work. I haven't looked in detail at the RC300 to know if you could exactly mimic ...

Re: How many buttons do I need?

SooperLooper also some "combo" commands built-in that you can bind to, for doing simple one button record/overdub/reset on a loop. So if you were doing fairly simple things you can have just one button per loop. The FCB1010 is a big beast, but it could handle anything. The real question is...

Re: Sending more than 3 things to SL from Ableton

I had repeatedly looked into this but it almost seems like Ableton is just being restrictive on the sidechain inputs that it shows. As far as I can tell the SL AU is exposing matching sets (that you see in the sidechain outputs) but Live just isn't showing all the input ones. Do you have any other A...

Re: Long Press MIDI Commands?

Yes, using MIDI note messages work best to do the long press commands, when you make the binding in SL's midi prefs page be sure that Note is the binding type and they should work. As the other linked thread says, most commands probably do what you expect for long press, with the exception that the ...

There has not been much development recently, but I still try to keep it operating on recent versions of the supported OSs, and by integrating the occasional bug fixes. There is a lot of room for improvement in this scenario, but it isn't abandonware! It is open source, and I welcome any involvement...

Re: SL get crazy while Ableton is recording

It sounds like SL might still be getting MIDI events somehow from Live? Do you have and use the midi bindings intentionally? If not, go into SL's Prefs and remove any of the midi bindings you might have made.

Re: Press and Hold MIDI bindings

A lot of the SL commands use the long press for something useful, Undo (as you mentioned, for undo all), but also Record, Overdub, Multiply, etc... a long-press and hold will put it into a "sustain" like mode where the command will finish on release. Some of the more esoteric midi bindings...
