So your problem is solved? I never really looked into the source code or compiled it myself.
Just because I'm curious: what changes did you make? Do they affect the "normal" behaviour in any form?

Re: Undo/Redo to beginning of loop
Hello,
for this you need to have quantization on. So if you have a clock signal, record will sync to it in whatever you set (8th, cycle or to another loop).

Re: Using SL 1.7.3 in El Capitan
Hello, I got SL to work with El Capitan, but it's confusing sometimes. Do you start Jack first, then SL? I noticed that sometimes the connection is not possible, rebooting everything helps. Pitch-shifting and timestretching doesn't work though. I used my described workaround (change hostname to loca...

Re: [cmd pause] active at the end of a loop?
Switching samples "on the fly" is quite difficult I guess... Never used that, so can't really help with that. So basically you want to crossfade between samples? I tried a little bit and I think that this is what you want: You have, say 4 loops. 1-3 are playing, you want them to stop and p...

Re: [cmd pause] active at the end of a loop?
Hello, I think the quantize mute function is what you are looking for. You have to activate "quantize mute" on the interface, then press mute and it will mute the loop after it played if sync is set to "loop". If you want to restart it, you can use "trigger". It will st...

Re: SL 1.7.3 window height on Debian
Hi Nicola, I guess you tried that already, but can you adjust the height and width via dragging the down right corner of the window? It can be tricky to find the right spot where to click, but it should be possible. It's a little bit annoying to do this every time, but I remember that I had this pro...

Re: How many buttons do I need?
Hello, first you need to know, what you want. Basically you need record of course, maybe overdub, mute and solo (stop at the Boss pedal). That would make 4 buttons per loop. Plus you need to undo it. But that could be done software-vice. So you would need 3-5 buttons per loop (record, overdub, mute,...

Re: Long Press MIDI Commands?
Hi!
In fact there are "long press" commands to clear loops in SL (undo). I'm not sure if it works with MIDI controls though. Maybe this thread: click helps? I can't try it out atm.

Re: Loop quantisation to transients
Hi, I guess this might be a tricky one. 'backwards-quantisation' is not possible. You can sync it to the next bar/beat, whatever is set. So you need an external clock for SL and press the button to end record shortly before it should end. Then it will quantize it. If you trigger too late, it will pl...

Re: Newbie question about audio input
Hi Andrew, I think this is a quite easy one: you have to select your interface in the jack preferences. In detail: Start the jack application, don't start the server! Now you can open the preferences, here you can select your interface. Start the server. Now the input and output should be the interf...

Re: SL 1.7.3 crashing on startup OSX 10.10.3
Hello,
apparently Apple changed the network code with Yosemite so SL doesn't work 'out of the box'.
I figured out a workaround here: http://www.essej.net/slforum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4496, pitch-shifting and timestretching doesn't work though.
I hope I could help!

Re: Logic sync ?
Since I don't own Logic and use SL in standalone (for now), I can't be precise on that one. The question is: what do you want to do? Instruments from Logic play with SL or provide the sound input of SL? I also tried using SL as an audio plugin and had exactly the same problem: communication doesn't ...

Re: Logic sync ?
You can sync SL to any MIDI clock. If you want to sync SL to your drum app, you have to set "sync to" on the gui to "MidiClock". SL is now synced to whatever MIDI clock is coming in to SL. To sync something else to SL, you have to activate "Output MIDI Clock" in Prefere...

Re: click track for recording
Hi, To 1: there ist no master click. You could use an external program, sync it with SL and let it play a click. To 2: as far as I know there is no such function. It would be record_once I guess. But you would need to record a first loop to get a cycle. But in my opinion, a footswitch would be bette...

Re: Troubleshooting on X.6.8
Hello,
your SL is already the newset version for your system since higher versions do not work on OSX < 10.7.
I guess your problem is that SL sometimes loses connection? Can you give a little bit more detailed description of your problem?

No individual panorama
I didn't know how to describe it best.
When using the common audio output, I can use panorama with every loop.
However when using the individual outputs, changing the panorama has no effect at all, but it's still stereo.
I use version 1.7.3 on Mac OS X.

Re: OS X Yosemite
If you come up with other tests I can change the hostname back. So if there is a way it can be fixed without changing the hostname to localhost I will be there for testing
To the pitch shifting I can say that the engine doesn't even respond the osc. The messages just disappear into whatever.
