Re: OSC command for 'select_loop_1' etc?

Ah OSC, sorry missed that bit. But in that case I don't understand what the problem is. OSC message is as follows:

/set sf "selected_loop_num" <loop number>

where <loop number> is -1.0 = all, 0.0->N selects loop instances (first loop is 0, etc)

Re: M Audio Interface Recognition

This is probably overkill but I would suggest these steps:
  1. Turn off all applications that use audio
  2. Start Jack
  3. Make sure your M-Audio card is selected
  4. Start the Jack Server
  5. Start Sooperlooper
  6. Connect SooperLooper in Jack
Alternatively you can use SL as an AudioUnit plugin in Logic.

Re: MAX MSP VST~ not outputing discrete out channels

I believe the AU plugin has the limitation of only being able to use the main outputs. If you need discrete inputs and outputs then you will need to use the stand-alone jack application.

(Someone correct me if I am wrong, I have never actually tried this/been able to confirm this)

Re: Unpredictable connection behavior -- reliable solution?

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this. The issue is: so many changes in SL's running environment can take place during normal use. For example: Inserting/removing an ethernet cable while SL is running, or running SL concurrently with a different program than usual (I'm trying to learn how to use...

Re: Boss ME50 SooperLooper

You need to connect everything using Jack.

On Linux use qjackctl, on OSX jackOSX I believe.

You can use the "main in mon" and other monitor levels to get dry pass-through audio out (to hear what you are playing while recording) or you can just route a by-pass in Jack.

Are you using the stand-alone version or the AU?

You know you have to hit record for something to happen right?

Re: each loop in SL to separate out???

As far as I understand it and hopefully someone will correct my if I am wrong, you can't do this with the AU. The discrete ins and outs are only for the standalone version.

Re: false MIDI event

I played with a NanoPad once and the software seemed to run fine with WINE. I could tell that the software is written using JUCE so making a proper Linux version would have been really easy for Korg but thats another matter.

Re: false MIDI event

I think the problem might be that for the notes and triggers the NanoKontrol will send 127 and 0 in quick succession. SL interprets this as a double-tap and then the double-tap logic kicks in. I think there is some software for the NanoKontrol to change the mapping of the buttons. If you could chang...

Could you try with this slb? I have noticed some issues with unwanted undoes happening before which didn't seem to occur when the commands had the SUS option.

Re: false MIDI event

Could you paste your midi bindings file somewhere e.g. https://gist.github.com/ ? This should be an .slb file. If you havn't saved it under a specific name it should be under ~/.sooperlooper/default_midi.slb I believe.

Re: Ableton setup

So as far as I understand your problem is that you need a separate SL instance for each instrument as the AU plug-in doesn't have discrete inputs (is that right?). It may be possible to use SL standalone and route your audio using jack. I am afraid I don't have much experience with Ableton or even S...

Re: Pause requires 'doubleclick' the first time

Another update. This was actually an issue with the way the GUI handled the binding. If you want a quick fix you can edit your .slb file and change the CC binding that looks something like this: 0 cc 21 note pause 0 0 1 norm 0 127 to 0 cc 21 hit pause 0 0 1 norm 0 127 If you change the binding thoug...

I'm not sure how I would recognize it if there was an undo_all event.
The whole loop disappears and returns to the "Off" state.

Re: impossible to get to next track

This is most likely because SL's binding will default to "Note" message setting. This means they will respond to both "Note On" and "Note Off" messages. The NanoPad and MPK will most likley send NoteOn and NoteOff in quick sucession so what you want to do is change the ...

Re: selected_loop_number

You need to set both values in the target range to the loop number you want to select (starting from 0 for the first). So for a binding to select the first loop the target range needs to be set to 0, 0. For the second loop you set the target range to 1,1. For the third 2,2 etc... if you do want a bi...
