It's your footswitch sending a 'momentary' message. Momentary sends a message when you press the pedal and also when you release it. There should also be 'latch' mode for the buttons on your foot controller, where on and off values are alternated each time you press the pedal.

Let's say I have SL sync'ed up with my host in 4/4 @ 60bpm. I hit record, on the downbeat, and record 2 measures worth of sound then hit record again. The easiest way for me is to make sure your foot controller is sending cc messages and then right click the function you want to assign in SL (Record,Overdub etc.) , click on midi learn in the contextual menu, and then press the pedal you would like to assign to that function.

I was wondering if I have 2 gigs of ram installed what would be a safe amount for the maximum loop length. I read in the manual the default is 40 secs but if you set it too high your computer will crawl.

I've just started using this amazing program and I used to use my FC-300 just to trigger scene and effects in Live. If anyone else uses this midi foot controller I'd be curious to know how you set it up.
