Re: Download File Broken

The DMG file is not notarized, so you have to do a few things to make it work as mentioned on the download page: Because the software is not notarized, On MacOS Mojave and later you will need to right-click on the DMG file and choose Open, and then choose Open after it gives you a warning message (p...

Re: Insert/Substitute breaks loop

Yes, all of the undo/redo/workspace must fit in the loop memory allocated. The default 40 seconds is not much for anything... you'll want to use a much bigger loop memory. That 40 second default was chosen back in 2002!

Re: Undo stack doesn't pop off first recording if added more than one entry to stack

I now do think I really do wish the Undo Stack would pop off the first recording too if added more than one entry to the stack...and I do think that should be the default behavior when undoing, cause that is how undo is understood universally in like every program I can think of. I guess I can just...

Re: Undo stack doesn't pop off first recording if added more than one entry to stack

@ericfont, undo_all is already a bindable command. Also, SL will interpret long-presses automatically if you are able to use Note or CC messages as the bound event for the command, and your controller/pedal is able to send separate events on press and release. What foot-controller do you use?

Re: Undo stack doesn't pop off first recording if added more than one entry to stack

Yes, this was done intentionally to prevent accidental extra undo steps going to silence. If you you long-press undo it will reset to silence. Or you can hit Mute, if what you really want is silence. Way back in the early development days I found it sometimes easy to lose track of how many undos the...

SooperLooper v1.7.8 released

v1.7.8 release -- 11 June 2021 - Discrete loop outputs prefader option is available per-loop now, instead of in the Prefs. - Fixed extra input bus routing issue in AU plugin, now the extra input buses actually work. (Just a note for those tracking the git version tags, I changed the format to vX.X.X...

v1.7.7 release

v1.7.7 release -- 18 May 2021 - Discrete loop outputs now default to being pre-fader, so the volume controls will not affect their output. Change it in the Prefs > Misc/Latency. Loop volume always affects common output. - Mac version using JACK now works with latest JACK release from jackaudio.org.

You can go direct from record to overdub (or anything else) by simply ending the record by pressing overdub, instead of record. Is this not working for you?

Re: connection error, no reponse from superlooper

I think there is an issue with the latest Jack 1.9.18 that was released interoperating with SooperLooper. I need to look into it to see if it is anything I can fix. In the meantime, you may need to install an earlier version of JACK... but finding one that works for that OS might be the issue...

Re: midi combo commands and Long Presses

For all of the record_or_overdub-* ones, a long-press does an Undo All, reseting the looper to empty (can be redo'd).

You'll probably have to experiment to see what commands you find the most useful for your particular style of looping....

Re: Raspberry Pi4 and SL?

Should work just fine! It already exists as a package in Ubuntu for RPi. Any audio interface that is supported on the platform (like the pisound, but also pretty much any USB audio device) should work with it in conjunction with JACK. I have Ubuntu 20.4 or 20.10 64bit here on a RPi4, so I can help t...

You can adjust the loop memory when you create the loop itself. Use Add Custom Loop... and set the maximum loop memory time to whatever you want!
