Re: Mpd24/SL and Live 6 set up
I assume that the mpd24 sends out MIDI note messages for the pads and CC messages for the sliders by default. I'm not sure where you need help exactly, but here are a few quick tips. - Add the SL AU plugin to a new audio track in Live. - Create a new midi track and have it get its input from your MP...

Re: Version 1.6.13 released - oops
The record/overdub button is an awesome idea, but the key bind does not seem to work for me. Can you give more details as to exactly what you tried to set up? Are you talking about keyboard bindings, or MIDI bindings? If keyboard bindings, just go to the Preferences,Key Bindings page, go down to re...

Re: Problem hearing all devices when second loop created
OK, let's assume you want to sync the other loops to the first loop. 1. Set 'sync to' to Loop 1 at the top 2. Set quantize to 'cycle' at the top 3. On each of the other loops, enable their 'sync' flag Then, once you've recorded on loop 1, the other loops will be quantized on cycle boundaries for the...

Re: Problem hearing all devices when second loop created
When conncecting jack to looper I click "system" then "sooperlooper". That establishes connection on inputs 1/2? How do I then do the same for 3/4? Repeat the sequence AND initially I can hear and record both, it's only when I open the second loop. I can't tell if what your sayi...

Re: Problem hearing all devices when second loop created
OK, let's step back and really analyze exactly what you want to accomplish. Because you have so many channels on your audio interface you'll have to make explicit port to port connections within JackPilot, and not just do it at the top level. I will try to describe what I *think* you want and how yo...

Re: Version 1.6.13 released - oops
The source code originally released would not compile on Linux systems. It has been fixed and updated in a new tar.gz file. Please go to the download page http://essej.net/sooperlooper/download.html and get the new version if you intend to compile the source code.
Sorry about that.

Version 1.6.13 released - oops
Well folks the 1.6.12 was short-lived as the newest version, as it had a fatal bug regarding MIDI input in the AudioUnit version. Although the issue only affected the AU plugin, I incremented the version number for everything anyway. Sorry about that. http://essej.net/sooperlooper/download.html Here...

Re: After installing .12, Midi bindings no longer work.
Nope, the problem was in the AU code, something changed in the compiler that silently broke something. It is now fixed and I'll be releasing .13 tonight.

Version 1.6.12 Released
This release is a result of going through the mailing list and forums picking out the low hanging fruit to fix and implement. If I missed yours, please let me know. Items I have not yet been able to reproduce are probably not fixed yet. http://essej.net/sooperlooper/download.html Fixes in this versi...

Any update on reproducing these bugs sam? Do you have any sessions for me to check out (SL sessions saved from SL's session menu)?

In mainstage or Logic, I don't know as I do not have those products. I was hoping someone had figured it out and would post. You might try the mailing list (or mailing list archive maybe, Per may have posted on this topic before).

Re: Problem hearing all devices when second loop created
If you could also include a screen shot of SL with the multiple loops that could be helpful. In addition, provide a screenshot with the items in the JackPilot router expanded (click the arrows) so I can see the individual ports of SL and the system. To see what a specific port is connected to, just ...

Re: cant compile SL
If you compiled 2.8.9 yourself and installed it, it should have all the dev stuff necessary. Is it possible that you had an older version installed already and it is still picking that up? Check to see if /usr/bin/wx-config exists, try running it with 'wx-config --version', if that isn't there, try ...

Re: Creating Aggregate device on intel mac in jack
No need to make it the default. In JackPilot's preferences you just need to set the Interface choice to your new aggregate device before you start JACK. That should be it, it will show up as "system" in the routing window. if you set up both line and mic inputs in the aggregate you will se...

Re: Creating Aggregate device on intel mac in jack
This is very strange behavior. I have no idea why your aggregate device disappears like that. A search reveals that it happens to others, and the fix seems to be make sure you are an admin user, and to repair permissions. I think the place to repair is '/Library/Preferences'.

Re: Creating a New Loop (i.e. Loop1, Loop2 etc...)
You should always be able to feed the "main inputs" (those are the first two when you look at the jack connection router entry for sooperlooper) into any loop as long as the 'main in' is checked on each loop. What might be confusing matters is the option to create "discrete i/o" ...

Re: Creating Aggregate device on intel mac in jack
All I do for my macbook, is open Audio Midi Setup app, open the Aggregate device editor from the Audio menu. Add a new device (+), check all the items (Built In Output, Built In Microphone, Built In Input), and pick the clock to be the output. The key thing to watch out for is making sure each of th...

Re: Creating a New Loop (i.e. Loop1, Loop2 etc...)
In the Session menu, use the Add Mono Loop, Add Stereo Loop, or Add Custom Loop menu items. You can make midi bindings that apply to individual loops or the "selected" loop (or all loops). You can also use the keyboard bindings to select the loop (number keys, 0 is all) that the keybinding...

Re: Using PROXI to remap, with great success.
As for next/prev_loop, right now the only way to get those is through MIDI or OSC bindings, not the keyboard. So if you can find a way to send MIDI events via one of these tools, you could do it.
I'll try to find a way to get that into the keybindings though.

Re: Sending midi start messages
Yeah, those options you found relate to how SL handles *incoming* midi start and stop messages. I think I just need to add the feature that sends a midi start message on trigger (it will be an option). Thanks for the request.

Re: Multiple tracks
The AU plugin can support sidechain inputs and outputs for each loop within an instance. Some plugin hosts do not present these in a usable way. It seems that mainstage is one. Ableton Live however makes it easy to access these and route the individual outputs to other audio tracks for further proce...
