Can you post screenshots of the preferences window for JackPilot? Also, for the Aggregate device editor, and the audio midi setup window with the aggregate device selected?

Re: Starting SL, using JACK
Are you trying to use the built-in audio on a mac laptop? If so you need to create an Aggregate device using the Audio Midi Setup application (see the Audio menu to get to the aggregate device editor), and add both the built-in input and output devices to it. Once created, you will then choose it as...

See this post I just made: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=123#p466studiesinsound wrote: Anyway I saw your comment in this thread about an iPhone app?
Any specifics?
I am very interested in what this might be.
is it an audio looper similar to sooperlooper?

upcoming iPhone app (OT)
So I have been developing an iPhone application recently, in case you were wondering why SL hasn't any any updates. It is a sampler instrument, with user upgradable multi-sampled sounds. Polyphonic (16 voice), up to 5 touches simultaneously, but *without* the traditional piano keyboard view. Hundred...

Re: Looping on an external drive
If want to save the individual loop audio you recorded inside SL, you have to use the SL GUI save buttons individually on each loop, which pops up a normal file save window where you can browse to your external hard drive. If you want to save the whole session of loops you can do that from SL's Sess...

I think this is purely an interaction between Mainstage and the SL AU plugin. Don't go removing things for no reason.

Re: Loop1 is louder than the rest
I can report the same results. Loop 1 seems to record louder than the rest. I noticed this tonight when pre-looping some parts for a live show. I recorded using loop 1, loop 2 and loop 3, and the wav file (and general playback even before saving) was louder on loop 1 then the other two. So I just r...

Re: SL like Electro Harmonix 16 second delay?
I think I understand you correct when you talk about "Think of SL's reverse as changing the direction of the "tape"". How it is now is that you'll need to press the Rev button after recording your loop to hear it in Reverse regardless of if it's red/active or not - right? That i...

Re: SL like Electro Harmonix 16 second delay?
For me it's a pity to have only one option here though because I would really like the possibility to have something in Reverse or changed Rate-vise without the need to do any pressing/changing, often I want to hear the loop in Reverse and Rate-changed from the start. Everything that can reduce any...

Re: SL like Electro Harmonix 16 second delay?
Another thing: I've tried to read about the Pitch and Stretch parameters, but I can't find any info about them in your Documentation online. I had a hard time figuring out how they worked together with Rate and Reverse. Sorry about that, really need to update the docs. Basically, you cannot use Rat...

Re: SL like Electro Harmonix 16 second delay?
Think of SL's reverse as changing the direction of the "tape" and the play head and record head are in the same place. So if you have feedback set to 0, or replacing, you'll hear the original audio reversed the first time around -- but it will have been recording your new audio in the same...

Re: Sync to host temp?
Follow these steps: - set the 'sync to' to Jack/Host. Once you do this, you should see the tempo indicator switch to that of your host. You'll have to ensure that the host tempo is set appropriately... - set the quantize value to 'cycle' - enable 'sync' on the loop(s). You can set your 8ths/per cycl...

Re: Save session with audio
Yes, I could fix it so the reverse state is maintained.
As for saving the loop audio from a plugin instance, I could make that an option, but I would need to provide a place for you to set the folder where they will be stored too.
I'll check on the email functionality on the server.

Re: SL like Electro Harmonix 16 second delay?
Yes, use the 'delay' command, which is a tap based delay, you set the delay time as the interval between tapping the delay command. If you set the feedback to 0% you'll get one repeat, and you can use the 'rate' control to change the speed of the "tape" and also reverse should work. To get...

Does Bidule expose any sidechain inputs/outputs buses on the plugin when opening as 2in/2out? Live does.....
There are a few too many options when it comes to implementing multichannel stuff in an AU. I'm not surprised different hosts handle it differently.

Re: Frustrations..
You have discovered Mainstage trying to be too smart. What is happening is that it recognizes that there is silence coming from the plugin, and silence on the inputs and has decided not to run it at all! Unfortunately, SL needs to run all the time in order to process events. I recently fixed the pro...

Re: Load a loop without playing immediately?
In version 1.6.13 loading a loop should now start with the state paused (and does for me here) after you load a loop (or a session). What version are you using?
But yes, your solution was the workaround before the new feature I added above.

Re: Simple midi question for Jesse
I was really scratching my head about your questions until I realized that *both* of your uses of the word "not", you really meant "note". :P OK, so you want to make two bindings, one that forces the 'sync to' to Loop 1, and the other that toggles mute quantize, both of which hap...

Re: Help step by step x MIDI SL with footcontroller
If you are using SL standalone with JACK, yes you'll need the midi patchbay in order to connect your midi input to SL (this is SL's fault that it has no GUI interface to do it). If you are using the AudioUnit version of SL, your plugin host will provide the midi connection. Yes, pretty much any midi...

Re: MIDI Start
Looking at the code, it appears that the trigger to send start will only work when the 'sync to' is set to one of the loop #s. I will try to fix that in the next release.
But wait, are you saying that the act of switching the 'sync to' value actually sends the midi start?

You need to select your MOTU interface in the JackPilot Preferences before starting JACK.
