Setting up Mac for low latency

Hi all I've got SooperLooper running on my Mac using a TC Helicon VoiceLiveTouch as the audio interface (USB) and it's going okay. I'm also running FabFilter Twin2 software synth on the machine which stretches things a bit CPU-wise though and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on setting the OS up...

Key Mapping

Most of the things I think are bugs are just me doing something wrong, but I'll risk it again. :) I've just finished making an eight switch foot pedal out on an old USB keyboard and so far it is working pretty well. Two of the characters I chose for switches are '.' and ',' however and they don't se...

Re: Starting a new song quickly

Hi Jesse

Thanks for the tip on the long-press undo, that's exactly what I needed. Thanks for also looking into the default directory issue. I owe you a donation next pay day. Promise! :)

Starting a new song quickly

Hi Jesse I've been having a more fun with SooperLooper lately (thank you!) and I've started making a DIY footswitch for it (a post on that later). One thing I think would be a big help though would be the ability to either configure a default directory to open when you select 'load session' or have ...

Re: Can't connect to server

Hi Jesse The hostname I had in Preferences -> Sharing was some huge long string, but I had set the Unix hostname to just 'wopr' from the command line previously. After a bit more experimenting (thanks for pointing me in the right direction), it turns out that setting the hostname from the command li...

Can't connect to server

Hi all I've just done a fresh install of SooperLooper (1.6.16) on a MacBook Air running 10.6.7 and the SooperLooper GUI doesn't seem to be able to connect to the server. I started by just running the GUI directly, but running from the console gives: stuart@wopr: /Applications/SooperLooper.app/Conten...

Re: Loosing separate IO ports when loading

Hi Jesse, thanks for looking into this (and writing SooperLooper in the first place!)

I'm running under Ubuntu 10.10 using the packaged version of SL (1.6.14).

I've attached the files you requested to this post.

Regards,
Stuart

One-cycle record

Hello again I was wondering if it is possible with SooperLooper to trigger a loop to record for just one cycle. For example, if quantise is set to 'loop', you could press a key to start recording, pickup a guitar while the loop is waiting to sync, start playing at the start of the cycle and then hav...

Loosing separate IO ports when loading

Hi all I'm new to SooperLooper so this may well not be a bug, but this is what I am experiencing. I set up a session with four loops, each with separate IO ports that appear just fine in Jack. I record some audio, save the session with audio then close SooperLooper. When I reopen SooperLooper I have...
