Re: Launchpad MkII - lights?
Hi, it might be a little bit late and you probably have lost hope on an answer, but here is my solution: I used a Launchpad MkII exactly for this, but I had to write a little program which functions as a "translator" between SL and the Launchpad. It communicates via OSC with SL and uses th...

Re: I want to sync SL to Ardour looping, use stop/start via
First of all thank you for letting us be a part of your "journey"! I switched over to Ubuntu Studio 19 and am now using Hydrogen for the Jack Timing Master. So Ardour follows Hydrogen as does SL. It's a few keypresses to get everything rewound to start recording. There must be some kind of...

Re: Background Rhythm loop/Grouping Loops
About the two soloing at one time I'm very sure you can do that, but if and how the two instances work I don't know.catfishthebottleman wrote:Thanks for your reply:)
I didn’t know you could have two loops soloed at once or run two instances of SL.
I’ll give it a try!

Re: Background Rhythm loop/Grouping Loops
I guess your "mute groups" solution would be the way to go. You could put your rhythm loop on solo the hole time so when you want another loop to come in, you have to solo it too. I guess it doesn't make any difference. You could run another instance of SL of course, say an instance for rh...

Re: OSC to MIDI
I read your first post again and if you don't need MIDI for your NeoPixels, you won't need MIDI at all! You can do everything with OSC, you would have to set up a network connection though. OSC works via network with IPs and stuff. So I don't know exactly how OSC would work with an USB-plugged-in Ar...

Re: OSC to MIDI
Hello, yes indeed, OSC seems to be the way to go if you want to have access to full controllabilty. I'm pretty sure there are "OSC-to-MIDI-Converters" but I'm afraid they all cost money (at least they did when I searched one some years ago). So I programmed my own. So if you can do a littl...

Since this forum is not the most active in the world, there might be a lack of answers.
I'd love to see your concept, as far as I understand you're not finished yet?
Making SL into a physical looperpedal would be really great!

Re: Window focus
Hello,
my best guess would be, that Mainstage keeps all MIDI commands, that your foot controller is sending when in focus. You might want to test SL alone and see if it works when you put your browser in foreground. So maybe Mainstage and/or SuperCollider grab full control when they are in focus.

Hello,
you could save a loop and then load it into another loop. I don't know if this is practical though.
Another way would be to record loop 1 into loop 2.

Re: FCB1010 problem!
So, just curious, is this post referring to uno chip mod? I can't seem to get my fcb to correspond to sl. I don't have uno mod. I have FCB programmed to notes. When i connect FCB to SL through jack, and try to bind note, FCB is sending tons of info at SL at once, without me pressing anything. Any t...

Re: Newbie question about sync'd loops
Hey guys, I know this is an old thread but I'm having similar syncing issues. I have 3 loops. 2nd and 3rd is synced to first through sync option on each. I haven't used play sync option. I have sync to loop 1. Quantize to loop. Everything seems fine and syncs nice until I do something like record o...

Re: Loop Divide ?
So you want to have a loop half the length with divide?
The only thing you could to would be resetting the loop to its original length with hitting "record" before the loop point reaches the end of the loop.
You could record the part you want to keep in a new loop of course.

Re: Looper with more than 2 channels in a Mainstage track?
The best guess I can give there is that SL has 2 inputs and 2 outputs that it gives to Mainstage. So everything SL gets comes and goes in those 2 channels.
Can't really help there since I don't have Mainstage...

Re: Help with USB Keyboard setup
You can sync to a midi clock signal, so length and speed will be in sync with the midi clock, e.g. by a drum software. The input itself won't be quantized, but the start and end of your loop. However you could sync SimpleSynth up with SL, so SimpleSynth has SL as master clock. I'm not sure what you ...

Re: Help with USB Keyboard setup
Hello,
so you want to get the notes from your USB keyboard to SimpleSynth via SL? I don't know if this is possible with SL, because SL doesn't have a MIDI through as far as I know. So you need to set your USB keyboard as input in SimpleSynth as well.

Re: jack_transport on macOS
In my understanding, jack only functions as a transmitter, so you would have to send transport messages with another program, if that's what you're aiming for. So you let another program send a MIDI clock signal and SL will sync to that.

Interesting, check out comi's solution, hopefully that won't break anything else, but it should at least get you going. Sometimes the local hostname will change, and you'll have to do this again. there should be an OSC-message "tap_tempo" with loopID -2. If you want to get the current tempo delivered, this should be "tempo" with loopID -2

Hi, ah, I thought you meant a real keyboard (like a piano), not the keyboard of a pc. So everything I wrote about MIDI is not relevant in this case. I tried to set the arrow keys and it worked for me (QWERTZ keyboard on Macbook). Every key should be possible to set in Preferences => Key Bindings. Ma...

Hi,
what keyboard do you use? SL reacts to MIDI. It might be, that the numbers and arrows don't send MIDI, but send internal commands to the keyboard itself.

Hello, so far I used a Propellerhead Balance successfully. Currently trying out a Behringer FCA1616, but not with SooperLooper yet. The Balance does the job perfectly though. I can't tell the compatibility with Linux though, because I use a Mac. The Balance has two outputs (6.3mm left and right), he...
