Re: Is sooperlooper the most important program on your rig?
once I get to the point where I can loop seemlessly in front of a crowd of people and know the functions like the back of my hand... Yes, it will be; but I still haven't gotten my stup to the point where it's as reliable as a hardware looper. I'm sure the more I practice with it, the more solid it w...

SETUP: SL w/ Jack, Reason, & MIDI Patchbay
Ok so I was thinking that I would post the exact setup details of my SL configuration, so if anyone wanted to emulate it, they could just follow the step by step instructions. This is more or less the original setup Jesse had listed in the SL documentation, and it's by no means the best setup, but ...

Re: Installing AU Lab
great info. I'm going to have to try Audio Hi Jack Pro.
I've been having issues with getting it to work with AU Lab, but I only tried briefly. I'll post again when I get it working/get stuck

Re: "AU multichannel" choices make Logic crash ... ??
If I remember correctly, I was having issues with loading SL into Logic as well, but I think I couldn't even get it to load on ONE channel. I reverted back to the only way i've gotten it to work for me, being frustrated and just wanting to make some music and not a computer geek

Re: Using Overdub, after Record
hum. Try setting the quantize function to 'loop'. I believe this will quantize all your recordings and overdubs to 1/8 in time with eachother... I think lol. That is what has been working for me, and I haven't noticed any tails on my loops

Wow, awesome controller rasmus! Which on the list of DIY kits is that? Could the buttons be swapped for some momentary switches?

SL loop output mixer?
I was thinking it would be awesome if SL had a pulldown mixer under the GUI, so one could do simple gain changes, solos, and mutes to the created loops. I've been using SL standalone, and plan on getting it working in a DAW for further expandability, but I think even once inside a DAW this would be ...

very interesting, I'm going to have to experiment with these and see what kind of results I get!
anyone have any particularly good methods of using these features?

Replace, insert, sub, delay.
So I've been wondering what specifically these functions do. I can imagine more or less what they accomplish by the names of the buttons, but how are they used in live looping?
I'm fairly new to looping BTW, but I take it these functions were available on analog looping pedals?

Re: Installing AU Lab
awesome break down, exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to try this when I get home. What version of Logic are you using? I'm on Logic Studio 8. It seems as though with every set up I've had some issue... Logic can't find SL (or I can't find SL in Logic), Ableton Live can find SL and do flawle...

Live vs. SL
So I was trying to study up on Live a bit, watching free video tutorials and such, considering I want to sculpt my live performance tool. I realized that live can be used by itself for live looping (see Kid Beyond) which is fairly impressive... however I noticed that everyone who is using this as a ...

Re: Adding custom loop
You'll never know until you try I guess
but really, It couldn't hurt to try maxing it out. At worst you might have to restart your computer. I bet Jesse wouldn't mind a little beta testing anyways

Re: Installing AU Lab
That would be awesome! PM sent! I'm sure I'll have a million more questions once I get AU Lab going. I'm hoping it's a bit more streamlined than the other DAW's or standalone/Jack/MIDI router. I'm most familiar with Pro Tools, but there's no RTAS. I have both Logic and Ableton Live, but can't figure...

Re: Installing AU Lab
So... i've been having a tough time getting a hold of AU Lab. I know it's free, but I only have Tiger 10.4 and I guess I have to have 10.5 to use the Xcode tools that are available from Apple? Does anyone know of a direct download link? or could someone zip the install file and share it? I'd really ...

Re: Sooperlooper newbie struggling to get started!
I would try it on an instrument or aux track, with your sound source (guitar/synth/etc) routed to it w/ a buss. Then you should be able to hear yourself playing, then as the loop is done, you'll hear that too.

considering AU Lab recieves MIDI, and I use SL primarily with Reason and vsti's, it looks like I'll be downloading this tonight. This means I won't need that MIDI router program I've been fumbling w/?

Re: Installing AU Lab
How does AU Lab fare against Logic, specifically for live performance? I know that Logic obviously has more flexability, but AU Lab would be lighter on CPU?
either way AU Lab is an awesome freebee
