How did this go? I'm just setting up ubuntustudio on an Asus Eee 1000 that has been lying around with SSD and additional RAM just to play with and see how it goes under similar circumstances you describe (curiously also with a didje, but looping between didje and acoustic guitar) so would be interes...

Sounds good... I'm UK based but sure I can find an equivalent... might have to sacrifice the all-recycled bit for a good working unit
