Re: Sync to host temp?

If I just set sync I notice that after awhile there is still some drift but I'm suspecting that the EXS24 Sampler is not really designed to be a "Sample Looper" so to speak so it's own accuracy on re-triggering the sample is not really sync'ed or tied to anything, so it drifts on it's own ...

Re: Sync to host temp?

Ergh apparently MainStage doesn't send MIDI clock messages (although it does send tempo), which is why, I guess, setting Sync To:Jack/Host and then 'play sync' doesn't work...

Re: Sync to host temp?

OK, this is sorta working but it's pretty touchy still and tends to drift on long playing runs (ie...same loop playing for extended length of time)

I tried setting "play sync" on the loop but all I get from it is a high pitched squeal.

Re: Volume drop

Disregard. I had that channel volume set to 0 db so I was hearing the bus volume through SL and the channel volume through MS, until I stopped playing and only the loop came thought

Re: SL with pedalboard (osx, logic)

I just have a pipe that goes from Midi In straight to SooperLooperAU_in.
I didn't think of that. I'm using MIDI PatchBay for the same thing but MidiPipe for something else..hmmm...

Volume drop

Not sure where to put this. My loop seems to be dropping in volume (not fading, just the playback is quieter than the original signal.

I have all the input/output/etc gains at 0 db and the feedback at 100%. not sure where else to lok (this is a recent issue so I don't think it's a bug)

Re: Is sooperlooper the most important program on your rig?

I wouldn't say it's the 'most important' but it is an integral part. Old bass rig: Bass into Limiter/Enhancer peddle To Volume pedel To Aguilar premp. To Digitech JamMan Loop pedal to Behringer mixer To Power amp. On the side I had a Lexicon reverb unit in the Aguilar effects loop and an old ART con...

Multiple Loops vs Overdub?

Is there a reason ti use multiple loops at one time that are synced? Is there an advantage of that over just using one loop and using "overdub"??

Re: Frustrations..

I just wanted to suggest eliminating all the extra apps you have (jack etc)...
I'm not suing Jack as I'm using SL as an AU plugin. Other than that, I need everything I'm using.

However I got it all working fine so no problems

Re: If you would be kind enough to answer some questions...

Have any long time users out there got a hardware pedal that they never use because their software set up is easy, quick and intuitive to use Yes. I used a Boss RC-20 for years and then a Digitech JamMan. I'm now using SooperLooper exclusively because the sound is cleaner and it has more flexibility

Live gig this weekend

Here's a few clips of a gig last weekend using SooperLooper (and Mainstage). Re: Loop1 is louder than the rest

Yes, Sam, that did the trick. I also have to be careful I realized when starting up that I remember to select a loop. If no loop is selected than when I hit 'record', all loops will record and then loop back and that *is* louder. This is because I have my binding set to record on 'Selected'. I suppo...

Re: Loop1 is louder than the rest

I can report the same results. Loop 1 seems to record louder than the rest. I noticed this tonight when pre-looping some parts for a live show. I recorded using loop 1, loop 2 and loop 3, and the wav file (and general playback even before saving) was louder on loop 1 then the other two. So I just re...

Sync to host temp?

Is there a setting I can that will sync, or probably quantize, a loop to the tempo coming from the host? Here's the scenario. I have my temp established for a song I play and a sample that plays back a four bar piece of the song when I trigger it. However, as I'm jamming along to this I'm trying to ...

"You have discovered Mainstage trying to be too smart"

Yeah, I figured it may actually be a MS->Au plugin interaction issue than something in SL itself.

I'm working around it by just sending all my signals through Bus1

Re: Frustrations..

Gah I think I *finally* figured it out, and it's a rather weird combination OK, I have three channel strips, To have volume set to -inf and I uses the Bus 1 Level to send signal to SL (on Bus 1, based on Sam's video). Those two are for settings I loop. I then use various widgets in Mainstage to mani...

Frustrations..

I'm having some serious problems running SL as an AU on a Bus in Mainstage. It seems like sometimes I will do something, hit a controller pedal or something, and SL will just decide to stop listening to MIDI. Last time I I hit the pedal I had bound for "pause" and the loop paused, but afte...

Re: Load File from trigger

Hmm...never mind...I think I can do this just by saving a session with the audio so that when I load my session I get my pre-recorded loops and then can trigger them as needed...I *think*. It seems to be working n theory but I'm not sure about some of the way loops sync together

Re: Version 1.6.13 released - oops

This issue was *also* solved for me by deleting the SooperLooper.app and reinstalling it and being sure to put the AU component into ~/Library/Audio/...

I'm not quite sure which step was needed but I rather suspect it was the Au component install that sorted out my issues

Load File from trigger

OK, when playing live it'd be cool if I could load a predetermined file. For example, maybe the cmd would be load_file_1 and I would bind that to trigger off some controller message and then have an input box (typical filename input/browse type widget) where I could fill in what 'file 1'really is. S...

Re: Load a loop without playing immediately?

OK, disregard. On a hunch I deleted SooperLooper.app from my Applications folder and reopened the dmg to copy it (the app) to applications and *also* made sure to copy the AU component to ~/Library...etc..etc.. which I had not done before, and now it's working fine. Thanks as this is a very useful f...

I'm using 1.6.13. I was using 1.6.11 when I first posted but then I saw your upgrade notes and thought "hey, that'll be cool" so I upgraded last night and I'm trying it again but it's still doing the same thing, it plays as soon as I load

Re: Load a loop without playing immediately?

OK, I figured out I can do this by clicking "mute", loading the file, and then clicking "trig".

Yes, the file still plays immediately, but the 'mute' holds and then 'trig' restarts the loop from the start (turning of 'mute')

So not quite the same feature, but the same result

Re: Version 1.6.13 released - oops

For a MIDI binding you have to go the preferences, MIDI bindings, select [cmd] record_or_overdub from the dropdown, set the loop # (or selected, or all) then enter your midi event or click the learn button and send it. Then hit the Add New. That works fine. The problem is that I get no response the...
